Schriefer Red Angus is a 5th generation family farm and ranch located in rural west/central North Dakota. There are currently four generations living and working on our ranch, including Grandpa Bob and Grandma Marlene who are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary this summer.

We raise a variety of crops as well as our Red Angus and commercial cow herd. We have a bull and replacement heifer sale every January at the ranch, passing along our quality genetics to other cattle producers across the U.S.
Our cattle are on grass from May until October/November, depending on what the North Dakota weather allows. In the winter, they receive corn silage and free choice hay and mineral in order to ensure proper nutrition through the long North Dakota winter.

We pride ourselves on how docile and gentle our cowherd is. We handle them on foot, on horseback, and also with side-by-sides/4-wheelers. We keep meticulous records and know each cow individually, even though there are hundreds of them! Our cattle are not treated with antibiotics unless necessary, and we are happy to answer any questions you have about our animal health protocol. Moving the cows to a different pasture -- rotational grazing is very important to our operation. We are cattle ranchers but also grass farmers, ensuring the land is healthy for generations to come.
